In partnership with East Lancashire Railway's this race will start from Bury train station on the sound of the steam trains whistle. Runners will then set off North along trail paths running alongside the railway lines and Irwell River. The run is from point to point, starting at Bury and finishing at Rawtenstall Station approx. 11 miles in distance. Minimum age 16 years.
The steam train on the sound of its whistle will travel south to the next station then change tracks, then heads north catching the runners as it makes it's way to Rawtenstall Station

Online entries to the event will close at 11:59am on Wednesday 14th June 2023

Registration is on platform 3 at Bury Train Station and will open at 09:15 and close at 10:40
There is a drop off point on platform 3 for competitors bags. These will be loaded onto the train you run against and will be dropped off at Rawtenstall Train Station. Please note the bags will be unloaded when the train arrives appprox 1hr 40 mins after the start of the race
Please note that the entry fee of £28.50 (admin fee included)  does not include the price of a train ticket these have to be purchased seperately
Concessionary Train Tickets are for Race the Train Only. Please note the entry fee for the race does not include train tickets. Train tickets can be used as a single ticket and a return ticket and are at a concessionary price and can be used at any time of the race day. Closing date for Concessionary train tickets are 12/6/23. After this date train tickets will be at FULL PRICE which you can purchase from East Lancs Railway's ticket office either at Bury or Rawtenstall
There are two water stations along the route and one at the end, these are drink stations and water should not be there to throw around or splash youselves with
There will be T-Shirts and Bespoke medals to all finishers. Prizes for the first 3 male/females, also winners of male/female Master (35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80)
